Organic Coconut Flour is gluten-free, high in fibre, protein, and healthy fats and is wheat-free. It is made by dehydrating and finely grinding coconut flesh after the oil has been extracted. It has no added preservatives and is non-GMO. It is also low in sugar, digestible carbohydrates and calories, and has a low glycemic index. Good for baked goods and can be used as a partial replacement in any recipe calling for regular flour. For baking and cooking, substitute 10—30% of regular flour for coconut flour to add extra fibre and aroma as it is slightly sweet, coconut flavour and fresh aroma, Some recipes can be made with 100% coconut flour. It is light and soaks up moisture and suggest to add more liquid or eggs to recipes.
How to Use:
Versatile and delicious Coconut flour can be added to porridge, chia puddings and smoothies; or sprinkled over cereal, yoghurt, fruit salad and acai bowls. Use coconut flour to coat fish before grilling for a taste sensation, or stir into curries and soups. Coconut flour can be used to replace up to 1/3 of plain wheat flour in baking recipes, however about an equal amount of extra liquid will also be needed. Alternatively, pair equal parts coconut flour and quinoa flour with almond or hazelnut meal for the wonderful cake and muffin mixes. Organic coconut flour can also be used to make a beautiful pie crust, think tangy lemon or lime tarts.
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration recommended in warm climates.
